Flight One Software, in cooperation with Scenery Solutions, has created a Flight Simulator 2004 terrain upgrade package using commercial data licensed from companies like Navteq, TeleAtlas, and DMTI Spatial, that will bring your flight experience to new heights like no other terrain scenery add-on has to date. Ultimate Terrain: USA contains nearly every road in the United States area, enhanced railroads, a new night lighting environment unlike anything else on the market, corrected Oceanic coastlines, accurate landclass textures, plus much more.
Extensive Road Network: Adds every available road from Navteq's commercial navigation data. Each road is accurately placed to match its real world location. Railroads: Includes a data set that gives users enhanced railroad coverage in major cities, including rail yards. Spectacular Night Lighting: Adds a new night lighting environment unlike anything else on the market. This feature will add actual points of light, to simulate street lights, automobiles, and rural farms. Previously, this functionality has only been seen in many professional flight simulators. Accurate Water Data: This product also includes corrected Oceanic coastlines, plus islands, lakes and rivers, based on commercial data. Landclass Enhancments: Adds enhanced landclass textures and placement in metropolitan areas. Details, Details, Details: Also included in the product are detailed land polygons for things like parks, golf courses and cemeteries. The polygons will align with the road boundaries, just like you would see them on high quality mapping services and GPS units.
Ultimate Terrain is an almost 1.2 Gigabyte download. Please be aware that with such a large application, it may take considerable patience at different steps during the download and installation process. You may prefer the CD ROM version, however it will take until late July or early August for the CD's to be completed and shipping. This is a multi-part download. Since the file is 1.2 Gigabytes in size, special handling is required. However it is all very simple! Note: This is version 1.21 of the product. Download the following files: UltimateTerrainUSA-1-21.exe (about 10MB) UltimateTerrainUSA-1-21.ddf (about 1 MB) Note: If your browser can't save a DDF file, here it is zipped. Place BOTH files to a folder location you will remember. Next, download the Flight1 Downloader Tool at the following link: F1Download.zip - There is an instruction file that will help you understand the Flight1 Downloader tool if you have not used it before. When you run the tool, browse to the UltimateTerrainUSA-01.ddf file. Make sure you save the UltimateTerrainUSA-1-21.000 file (about a 1.2 Gigabyte download) to the exact same folder as the UltimateTerrainUSA-1-21.exe you downloaded earlier. Then, run the UltimateTerrainUSA-1-21.exe to purchase or reinstall! Afterwards, the 2 main Ultimate Terrain - USA setup files will be extracted to your system. Each main file can be saved to 2 separate CD ROMS for future installation. You do not need to save the UltimateTerrainUSA-1-21.exe or UltimateTerrainUSA-1-21.000 files if you have backups of the main setup files that are extracted after your purchase (or reinstall) is complete. For those that do not want to use the downloader tool you can get the individual files at the following location (this is not recommended due to possible file corruption across the Internet, but you can possibly repair corrupted downloads with the F1Downloader and matching .DDF file above).  This product is only compatible with FS2004, so of course, FS2004 is required. Although this product should run fine on any system capable of running Flight Simulator 2004, we recommend you have a 1.6 GHz machine, with a 128 Mb memory video card. System memory should be a minimum of 512. |
